We have highlighted the Historic Route alignments on Google Maps for each state. You can view them on this page, or download them to your mobile device if you have Google Maps installed for navigation. This format does not allow for turn by turn directions.
Map Color Key
- RED – Original 1926 Alignment – Drivable
- ORANGE – Original 1926 Alignment – Gravel or Dirt Road
- PURPLE – Original 1926 Alignment Segment – Drivable but does not connect
- BLUE – Original 1926 Alignment – major realignment occurred early pre-1940
- TEAL – Original 1926 Alignment – Abandoned – may be walkable
- GREEN – A second alignment of 20, used as a connector presently
- OLIVE – A connector to Route 20 – not an original alignment
- BLACK – Additional old Auto Trails – used for reference

How to use Google Maps on a trip.
- You need to have Google Maps App installed on your device
- Click the brackets on the upper right corner of each map
- The highlighted routes will load on your map
- Drive and follow the route (turn by turn not available)
- If need be, turn off AutoLock to ensure map stays on.
- To preload, click on each state from your device
- Under SAVED at the bottom, click MAPS and all the maps will load.
